Shannon Lay brings you mesmerizing and captivating folk-pop, with heart-string pulling through the resonance of her acoustic guitar. More than that her talent is ability to find those unique and outrageously harmonising tones and rhythms through her instrument of choice.

Shannon Lay has emerged from a thriving Los Angeles scene. In 2017 she was picked up and signed to Kevin Morby's own record label. Kevin subsequently took her on tour with him that same year. Now she has returned with a stunning new LP - August - and has just shared the title track, which you can hear below

The album’s name, August, refers to the month in 2017 when Lay quit her day job and fully gave herself over to music. This was her liberation as an artist, and the album is devoted to paying that forward to her listeners. “It’s a thank you to the universe,” says the L.A. artist. The title track is a mystical, folk-psych expression that builds into a gentle gallop. “Open the doors that you cannot,”. Much emphasis is given to the metaphorical flow of the river, so often seen throughout poetry.

Shannon is extensively touring from, the end of August in celebration of August. Tour dates below:
